Time to Invest in you
Happy New Year to you all. As we start a new year I want you to think about you. It's at this time of year we all start thinking about new year new you and within a month nothings changed. Well here is a novel idea, how about this year you actually do something. By doing something, I mean doing something for you. Invest In you. By taking back control of your thoughts, your goals, your life.
At the beginning, I want to assure you that it's ok if all if this feels overwhelming. It's also ok if you don't know where to start. This guide will help get you started and show you how investing in yourself can help you grow personally and professionally over time.
It won't happen over night.
There is no quick fix, no magic wand, the changes you want to make will take some time. It will take time to see the results of your efforts, you have to be patient, patience is a virtue and you must be patient with yourself making changes to your mindset. You will start to think differently and perhaps there are thoughts that have been there for a long time deeply embedded, you may have bad habits, bad patterns of behaviour. These are all the things that you need to change.
It's easy to think that you'll change overnight, but your habits and beliefs won't shift that quickly. It takes time, and sometimes years, to learn new things and make lasting changes in your life. Or see a therapist who can release those old habits within a few sessions. You may find yourself growing impatient with yourself or frustrated as you struggle through the process. Remember: patience is a virtue! Be kind to yourself through all of this—you deserve it!
You can do it.
you can't do this you are capable of anything. Now some of you may have this inner critical voice that tells you that you're not capable or that you're not worthy. You need to change that voice. Change it to one of encouragement, motivation, understanding and now that you are worth it you always were worth it you just forgot so you can do it you can't do anything that you set your mind to and one thing that you mustn't do don't let anyone else tell you otherwise some of you won't find it easy but it is worth it.
Take stock of what you already have and know.
Build on you take all the parts of you that you love that you respect what you know what you don't know, what you have and what you don't have. Take stock of your skills and your talents think back to the things that you have achieved throughout your life how good it made you feel when you stepped out of your comfort zone and you achieved something that perhaps you didn't think you would be able to do.
This is a great time to take stock of what you already have. What do you think your strengths are? Some examples might be: "I'm good at managing people," or "I'm really organized." It's important to write these down so that they can help guide your next steps towards creating the best possible future for yourself. Also, make sure to identify any limitations or weaknesses that may hold back your ability to move forward with confidence (e.g., "I'm not very outgoing"). Now is also an excellent time for self-reflection on areas where further learning would be beneficial (e.g., "I need a stronger financial background").
Don't talk yourself out of things.
Don't talk yourself out of things, you are your greatest supporter but you are also your biggest critic so don't listen to negative self talk especially from yourself. Don't let other people talk you out of things, it may not be right for them but it could be fantastic for you. Don't listen to people who are not supportive. There could be many reasons why they are not supportive, perhaps they're jealous perhaps they don’t want you to achieve. So don't let other peoples opinions influence your decisions because this is your life not theirs.
When deciding whether or not to invest in yourself, try this simple test: ask yourself if the person who is "talking you down" would be supportive if they were in your shoes and making the same decision themselves. If they wouldn't be supportive, then chances are good that their opinion isn't worth listening to anyway!
You're human and you will mess up, it's how you handle the aftermath that matters.
we all make mistakes, we have to, because that is how we learn and when you make a mistake from now on I want you to say to yourself ”What can I learn from this”. No more beating yourself up, no more calling yourself names, or calling yourself stupid. You make a mistake from now, you ask yourself “what can I learn from this”. You will mess up, but how you handle that aftermath that's where your strength will show you can be better, we all can be better. However, if you learn from your mistakes, you who come out stronger, you will come out more confident, and you will come out with a belief in yourself.
You can learn from your mistakes and be better for it. You can be stronger, more confident and have a healthier relationship with yourself.
Take time for yourself and make it a priority.
Taking time for yourself is an important step in self-care. It can be hard to find the time, but it’s worth it! When you make this a priority, you will be more productive and effective at work and home. You will also feel better about yourself, which helps you feel more confident in your relationships with others.
For example: If you are feeling overwhelmed or stressed out by a project at work or home, take some time to focus on the things that make you happy (go for a jog outside or enjoy some quiet time). This may help reduce stress levels so that you can be back on track when completing the task at hand—and even give it your best effort!
Know that all good things take time.
You're probably wondering how much time it will take to reach your goals. The truth is, it doesn't matter. What matters is that you know what's important to you and invest in yourself accordingly.
It's easy to get caught up in the hype of the latest fitness trend or craze diet, but don't let that distract you from what really matters—your health and happiness. Don't give up if something isn't working right away; instead, try a new approach or look at things from a different angle.
Make a plan and stick with it
set realistic goals for yourself so that when they're reached, there's still more for which you can strive!
Conclusion
take time to think about what you want to achieve this year no they won't happen overnight except that but be patient and don't give up break it down into smaller chunks small achievable chunks perhaps give yourself 12 obtainable tasks one a month make a plan stick to it but never talk yourself out of things.
Remember the saying “If nothing changes nothing changes”.
So look at the best bits of 2022 Bring them into 2023. Leave the bad parts that you didn't like that you don't want in the past. The past his past it’s gone and let's build a better you.
On TikTok this month all my messages are going to be about building a better you new beginnings giving you the motivation the inclination and the determination to build you a better life.
Now you may need some help to do this perhaps a friend who will be your guide perhaps a mentor someone who will encourage you support you.
I hope that this post has helped you realise that taking care of yourself is not just a luxury but rather something that is essential to your success. It can be scary to put yourself first and I know that it takes time, but if you stick with it, I promise you'll see positive results!
Until Next month.

Jon
